Humor Chic Exclusive - The Twitter Specials from Stefano Gabbana against the press "it's all a load of bull!"

A few months ago Humor Chic intercepted and saved an interesting tweet between Stefano Gabbana and someone named Flavio, a young man (NB not a friend of his). Intrigued by the stories about his major tax evasion (read here Dolce & Gabbana Tax Evasion), Flavio asked for his opinion on the matter. Stefano Gabbana unhesitatingly replied at once, giving his point of view, and then followed this interesting exchange of tweets:

Stefano Gabbana and Flavio conversing via Twitter about Dolce & Gabbana’s Maxi Tax Evasion

Flavio: @stefanogabbana Yes, but what about the tax evasion? Amnestied? Legally exonerated from attendance in court because of influenza? 11:37 AM Dec 22nd via web from Naples, Naples in response to mpietropoli

Stefano Gabbana: @flapane Hahahahaha! Do you still believe everything you read in the papers????? Gullible! 11:39 AM Dec 22nd via Twitter for iPhone in response to flapane

Flavio: @stefanogabbana No, not at all. I’m waiting to see how it turns out. Meanwhile, I’m looking at what’s being said (mostly in the foreign media). Wednesday, December 22, 2010 11:42:38 via web from Naples, Naples in response to stefanogabbana

Stefano Gabbana: @flapane You'll see! :-))) 11:44 AM December 22nd via Twitter for iPhone in response to flapane

Flavio: @stefanogabbana I certainly hope so, since D&G is a successful symbol of our country, but in the meantime I have my misgivings :-) Wednesday, December 22, 2010 11:46:31 via web from Naples, Naples in response to stefanogabbana

Stefano Gabbana: @flapane Anyway they always spout a lot of bull!! It depends what they want people to believe :-)))) Well....... let’s hope for the best .....:-)))) 11:46 AM Dec 22nd via Twitter for iPhone in response to flapane

This is what Stefano Gabbana wrote a few months ago. However, as regards the subject of his Tax evasion he really won't seem to change his mind. This is what he replied yesterday following insinuations by another Twitter user named Sciurusa:

Sciurusa: @stefanogabbana think about your own business and tax evasion! about 12 hours ago via web in response to stefanogabbana

Stefano Gabbana: @Sciurusa This is what you think!!!! Congratulations....go ahead :-))) about 12 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone in response to Sciurusa

Sciurusa: @stefanogabbana myself and the press. about 11 hours ago via web in response to stefanogabbana

Stefano Gabbana: @Sciurusa Keep believing all that bullshit!!! Good luck :))) about 12 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to Sciurusa

Keep hoping. Meanwhile we have seen fit to publish them to enable Stefano to defend himself from the press, which he reckons is slandering him. Meanwhile we have one certainty, which is he has very clear ideas about newspapers and journalists.

But what idea does he have of the laws and taxes?

It seems that we'll find out on April 1st when there will be a hearing with possible charges brought against Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, accused of defrauding the state, making an inaccurate tax return and serious tax evasion for 1 billion euros. On that day, before the judge for the preliminary hearing in Milan, Simone Luerti, there will be statements by the prosecutor, Laura Pedio, and maybe counter-statements by the defense attorneys. It will be a decisive hearing for the fate of the two stylists. On April 1st, Judge Luerti will decide whether the charges should be heard in court or dismissed. The latter seems unlikely to those who have already seen the documents. If found guilty the two designers face from 5 to 7 years’ imprisonment.

At this point we’d like to ask a question. If this terrible prospect were to be realized, for the duration, who would take over as creative director at Dolce & Gabbana? ...Galliano?

Ah, I was forgetting to say there was a series of special tweets recently written by Flavio and sent to a friend, containing expressions of regret about the developments reported in the press over Dolce & Gabbana (see International Herald Tribune). Just read the following exchange of tweets:

Flavio: I asked one of them on twitter, and he said it was a conspiracy by people who had it in for him... oops! ... 12:12 PM March 25th via web in reply to mpietropoli

MPietropoli: What are you referring to? 12:29 PM Mar 25th via Twitter iPhone in response to flapane Flavio: Months ago I asked one of the two stylists (here on twitter) about a similar article that appeared in the Times. 12:36 PM Mar 25th via web in reply to mpietropoli

Flavio: ... and in short he said it was all a conspiracy orchestrated by some obscure enemy. 12:38 PM Mar 25th via web

Mpietropoli: He replied to you?? AHahha ... Friday, March 25th, 2011 11:43:22 Twitter for Mac in response to flapane

As you can read, we've limited ourselves to republishing the originals from beginning to end, but the interesting thing is how, at a distance in time, the replies and concepts have already changed ......! Not that it was necessary, but we seem never to have read about “obscure enemies”! That's the beauty of Twitter. With two tweets fired off at the first person who makes contact, you risk transforming yourself from a designer into a genuine and original kamikaze!

Be careful Stefano and take a hint from me. Draw more (if you don’t know how just ask me) and play about with twitter less. How many times do I have keep saying this.

Humor Chic Special profiles - Jenna Sauers and Connie Wang, the girls next door

Cannibalism Chic by aleXsandro Palombo
Special Guest Terry Richardson

Once upon a time, a long time ago, if you there was no more sugar in the house or you had run out of something, you immediately thought of asking your next door neighbor for some! Those were fabulous times. People had that sense of warmth, friendliness, respect and kindness that always made everyone feel like one big family, really a great feeling! Today, fuck, if you try to smile or ask someone for something you happen to need you get landed with a harassment suit! We live in a difficult society, but people have their reasons all the same. If you go for a walk you risk getting raped. If you’re a kind-hearted lover you risk finding yourself shacked up with some idiot who doesn’t want you to see anyone else and decides to destroy you and your family. If you send a nice reply to a friendly email he turns out to be a sex fiend. If you ask the neighbor for a cup of sugar you risk being vivisected and stored in the freezer. In short, it’s a shambles. But luckily some people are still human.
Today Humor Chic is going to introduce a couple of them to you. They’re two adorable hit bloggers, really very pretty, hmm ... I was saying just sweet, hmm, intelligent, smart and above all attentive to everything happening in fashion and especially the changes taking place. Their names? Jenna Sauers is a contributor to the feminist blog Jezebel and Connie Wang Associate Editor at Refinery29. There is no indication of whether the two lovely ladies have ever met up, or whether they love or hate each other, but they certainly know of each other (they’re among the sharpest commentators in the fashion blogosphere). And if they were ever to really and seriously get together then there would be trouble for everyone! For the time being it’s better for both of them to remain at a distance. We already enjoy them too much like that! Oh, I forgot, if you need milk, sugar, a cup of coffee ... hmmm, and something else, hmmm ... they’re always available ... real next-door girls!

Humor Chic Bunga Bunker - Silvio Berlusconi: profound sorrow for his buddy Muammar Gaddafi.

BUNGA BUNKER by aleXsandro Palombo

Silvio Berlusconi: "Gaddafi, old friend, how are you?"

Muammar Gaddafi: "Really shit! I can't leave my fucking bunker. The French keep bombing Tripoli, they're depriving me of my freedom to massacre the lot of them"

Silvio Berlusconi: "Jeez, that's just awful. I feel really bad about that. I'll come to your aid. That Sarkozy is a real shit bastard. There's no trusting dwarfs like him."

Muammar Gaddafi: "Yeah, a real bastard, but every day I thank Allah I've got a runty little buddy like you. I always say "thank goodness for Silvio!"

Silvio Berlusconi: "Oh Gaddafi! Thank you so much for your words. They really move me..."

Muammar Gaddafi: "Pull yourself together now Silvio. Don't fall apart. You'll see, together we'll pull through!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FRANCE IS NOT COMMAND
"I’m saddened for Gaddafi and I'm sorry. What’s happening in Libya touches me personally. " These are the words uttered by Silvio Berlusconi in Turin Monday on evening during an election dinner. The premier off-the-record comment, saying he was saddened for Gaddafi, shows Italy when too far in its friendly relations with the Libyan leader. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi can’t stand the leadership shown by France in the Libyan crisis. "FRANCE IS NOT IN COMMAND" - Through his undersecretary for the Interior, Alfredo Mantovano, speaking on Canale 5, he said, "No single country is master of the Mediterranean." And he added: "There’s a UN resolution. It’s not right for a country like France to lead the way, because any damage caused by clumsy intervention in Libya will hurt Italy most, with massive immigration and a risk of terrorism. "
So you got that? Long live Gaddafi, his oil, his dictatorship and his criminal massacres! Does anyone still feel sorry for the thousands of men and women murdered by that animal Gaddafi?

Humor Chic Society - Nicolas Sarkozy and Silvio Berlusconi, The might of oil

Italy pushes for Nato control of Libya mission
"Let's hope Italy keeps out of this initiative," Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Kaaim told ANSA in Tripoli, referring to the possibility that Italy will allow its territory to be used for bombing raids on Libya.
"We are certain Italy has Libya's integrity and the protection of the population at heart. Let's hope that it doesn't consent to the use of its bases," he added.

Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi insisted the mission should pass to NATO's command, and said Italian planes would not launch any missiles. Speaking in Turin, he said co-ordination among partners must be "different from the one that has been established so far."
Very Interesting!

Humor Chic Interview - aleXsandro Palombo meets Nadia Plesner, the young artist who is currently giving Bernard Arnault ulcers!

Just the other day Humor Chic spoke of the dispute between Louis Vuitton and the young Danish artist Nadia Plesner (see here). But what isn’t clear is why a luxury brand like Louis Vuitton, which has always been notable for its patronage of art and especially artistic freedom, all of a sudden attacks a young artist for having used a bag in one of her paintings that suggests one of their models, Why?

At this point we thought it best to call Nadia and ask her directly!

aleXsandro Palombo: Dear Nadia, you've been giving my dear friend Bernard Arnault ulcers. I don’t quite understand why Louis Vuitton has decided to sue you. It all sounds so bizarre. So I’d like to understand more clearly just what led up to this state of affairs. Can you tell us?

Nadia Plesner: Obviously I disagree with the fact that I use LV's product in my work. I use a caricature of a well known status symbol to communicate my concerns about the fact that Hollywood celebrities get more media attention than much more important situations, like Darfur.
I can't say why they keep suing me, only that they have told me they do not wish to be connected with Darfur in any way.
Well-known products have been used in art for a long time. Just look at pop art, but perhaps the problem in this specific work is, that the two halves of the world are brought together in a work of art.
I tried to mix the horrible things I have learned about Darfur with some of the glossy stories that got a lot of attention in the same period.
For example, Britney shaving her head, Paris Hilton going to prison, the first Big Brother star to get cancer and so forth.
When I read on the internet that 50 kids in Darfur were tied to a tree and burned alive, I find it so provoking that the breaking news is that Tiger Woods cheated on his wife.
The mass media is one-way communication. It asks nothing of you. Every story has to be entertaining, colorful and shallow.
In Darfurnica I try to paint it like I see it and invite the viewers to reflect.

aleXsandro Palombo: And you’re certainly doing the right thing. Thank you for expressing your ideas. But in future, try not to get dear Bernard Arnault worked up. You know, he’s getting on in years ... If you’re still interested in fashion, try to involve others as well. There are a lot of people who are dying of envy. They’d love to be able to lose their temper like him!

Humor Chic News - Bernard Arnault, a great ... fashion victim!

It seems that these beautiful and famous words of our dear Bernard Arnault are beginning to falter, or maybe not... What do you think?
Read what follows.
A young Danish artist named Nadia Plesner is at loggerheads with Louis Vuitton, who is demanding she remove the representation of a model of one of his bags which the artist included in a recent work inspired by Picasso’s celebrated “Guernica”, which seeks to bring attention to the massacres in Darfur and the contradictions of our times. A child dying of hunger is painted holding Paris Hilton’s famous chihuahua and a model of a Louis Vuitton handbag. The artist's message is that the media cover fatuities like handbags or Paris Hilton’s dogs instead of the issues that matter. The giant luxury brand owned by dear Bernard Arnault apparently did not appreciate the context in which one of its bags was used and sued the young artist. The court of The Hague hit her with a court order, fining her 5,000 euros per day for each day she exhibits her painting. Although the letter was delivered in late January, the artist has not bowed to pressure and has not removed the work. To date the figure has soared to 230,000 euros. But the story does not end here. Step forward the Anonymous Hacker Group (known for its raids on websites: read here). It has declared war on Louis Vuitton with operation Skankbag. These are its salient points:
Operation Skankbag
Objective: Financial damage to Louis Vuitton. The more, the better.
Methods: We will use any non-physically violent method available to us to cause financial damage to Louis Vuitton. Method one was explained on Reddit. It involves buying replica Louis Vuitton handbags, and giving them away to homeless people. If your sister has an old bag that will do just as well, naturally.
Spreading negative messages about Louis Vuitton will work too. Enter into Google “Louis Vuitton whores”. Spray graffiti about Louis Vuitton. Take down their websites, hand out flyers in front of their stores. We will do anything we can to punish Louis Vuitton for infringing on our freedom of artistic expression, for we are Anonymous. We do not forgive, we do not forget. Expect us.
These are the intentions of the Anonymous Hacker group.
Ouch!... It seems really dangerous stuff and we will definitely not leave our dear friend Bernard Arnault all alone and at the mercy of these unscrupulous fiends. So we decided to join in the fray with a special and unique work, which defends his sacred rights... those of a true, great fashion victim!

Humor Chic's point of view - Bernard Arnault, a new communism by LVMH

Was it a plot to topple Galliano? Who can tell? But perhaps it was! The fact is that thanks to the Nazi Chic scandal caused by its maudit creative Galliano, the LVMH Group, its Chairman Bernard Arnault, Dior and its president Sidney Toledano seized the opportunity to instantly get rid of someone who had long since become too troublesome and something of a thorn in their flesh. LVMH no longer needs creative fireworks and mass-media attractions. Galliano served to give new life and imagery to a Maison that 15 years ago, while still identified with luxury and exclusive style, was out of touch. It was only thanks to Galliano’s vision that Dior was able to stage a comeback and enter the future with billowing sails. An operation that had previously defeated all his predecessors, including the Italian designer Gianfranco Ferré, a master of style and opulence, but quite remote and slow to connect with the real needs of the time. In 15 years with John Galliano, Dior has always churned out profits and established itself as one of the hottest luxury fashion brands, capable of creating and dictating new trends every season. Today Dior has a turnover of EUR 826 million and together with Louis Vuitton is the brand that drives the profits of the whole LVMH group. In 2010, despite the recession, the year ended with record revenues of +19%. So why, apart from the scandal, was Galliano no longer the ideal creative for Dior? Because his stylistic vision, his method and the approach to fashion that has always characterized it came into collision with the new strategic needs of the LVMH group. Today the designer has to be first of all a marketing man and always careful to check the sales figures to work out what to do and not do, ready to change, churn out, tackle and attack the market daily. Creative enough to get by, but good at seizing on the trends and ideas of fast fashion. Qualities that do not distinguish a quirky and dreamy creative like Galliano, who has long refused to follow certain dictates every season. This even though he tried year by year to shed ever more flair and creativity under the constant pressure applied by Arnault (read here) and Sidney Toledano, whom he often quarreled and scrapped with. Today LVMH’s challenge is to increase profits. Its focus is on those markets that have enabled sales to soar even in times of crisis, such as Asia, India or China, with the population of the latter expected to arrive at 1.5 billion by 2033. The goal is no longer to create dreams, excellence and certainly not magic. No, the real challenge will be to gear up and create simple products that will satisfy the aesthetic needs of a huge population ready to consume madly and indiscriminately.

Humor Chic – Will Bernard Arnault be Dior’s new creative director?

In January, Mr. Bernard Arnault, in an interview with Tatler Asia, stated:
"I could have asked a lot of other talented designers to work for Dior, but it's not the same," Arnault told the magazine Tatler Asia.
" Take Marc Jacobs, he has been a fantastic success at Vuitton and he has a proximity to the Vuitton spirit, but I don't think it would have been a success with Jacobs at Dior and the other way around. If I had asked John Galliano to do Vuitton, it would not have worked. An essential ingredient in the success of the brand today is the real proximity of Galliano to the talent of Christian Dior.”
Reading these statements a few months later it becomes particularly clear why Mr. Bernard Arnault is aware that it was the genius of Galliano that brought Maison Dior such success.
So what really happened? Why did Galliano end up in this vortex of depression and self-destruction?
Read the statements made in that interview with Bernard Arnault:
"Before producing each collection Arnault meets Galliano in his office at LVMH in Paris to discuss the designs. We meet in this room. "I say, 'John, I think we should do something different. What you did is too extravagant. For Dior it’s all a matter of details and John listens. So says Mr. Bernard Arnault. Very Interesting! Perhaps this prompts some reflections...
Fantastic, we’re looking forward to his appointment as new creative director of Dior, after Galliano!

Humor Chic – Sidney Toledano, Chez Dior comes the sun?

Sidney Toledano's speech at the Dior Show

"What has happened over the last week has been a terrible and wrenching ordeal us all," "It has been deeply painful to see the Dior name associated with the disgraceful statements attributed to its designer, however brilliant he may be."
"Such statements are intolerable because of our collective duty to never forget the Holocaust and its victims, and because of the respect for human dignity that is owed to each person and to all peoples". "These statements have deeply shocked and saddened us all at Dior who give body and soul to their work, and it is particularly painful that they came from someone so admired for his remarkable creative talent," said Mr Sidney Toledano.

The show must go on!

Humor Chic - Führer Karl Lagerfeld vs John Galliano, we stylists are not all the same... we are even worse!

Führer Karl has shown a vicious brutality against John Galliano by declaring:

"I'm furious, if you want to know. I'm furious that it could happen, because the question is no longer even whether he really said it. The image has gone around the world. It's a horrible image for fashion, because they think that every designer and everything in fashion is like this. This is what makes me crazy in that story. The thing is, we are a business world where, especially today, with the Internet, one has to be more careful than ever, especially if you are a publicly known person. You cannot go in the street and be drunk - there are things you cannot do… I'm furious with him because of the harm he did to LVMH and Bernard Arnault, who is a friend, and who supported him more than he supported any other designer in his group, because Dior is his favourite label. It's as if he had his child hurt."

However in such cases wouldn't it have been more serious and respectable for an old colleague to remain silent and show compassion instead of wanting to ride the media wave bringing about yet another massacre at all costs... on the poor skin of a lonely man, psychologically weak, already slammed to the ground and being incessantly attacked on all sides? Obviously some Stylists are even worse than that! And while we condemn Galliano's words we do not want to become accomplices of those who want to see him end up like Alexander McQueen... sometimes one should show Compassion and Forgiveness, Pick yourself up Galliano

Humor Chic News - Dior fires John Galliano

"I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior," Christian Dior Chief Executive Sidney Toledano said in a statement.
